New Students to the District » Elementary Schools
If you want to register your child for next school year (2009-2010)
If your child is new to the District (this includes entering kindergarten*), and would like to register your child at any of our elementary schools, you must pick up a new student registration packet. Use the following dates to determine when and where you should register your child.
Please note that at the time of registration, students' packets are stamped with the date and time of registration. Priority of space at the attendance area school is given to those students who register first.
- April 20 and 21, 2009: The first opportunity to register. You must bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of March 30, 2009 at each elementary site. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address). Registration hours are 9am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm.
- April 22 - June 26, 2009: Bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of March 30, 2009, at each elementary site. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address).
- July 1 - First week of school (usually the first week of September): Since the elementary schools are closed in the summer, registration for new students takes place at the district office (Room 4). The District Office is located at 1020 El Centro St., South Pasadena. Your first opportunity to register will be Monday August 10 and Tuesday August 11, from 9 am - 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm.
- After August 10 & 11, the next opportunity to register new incoming students K-5 will be Monday August 24 - Friday August 28th, at each school site, NOT at the district office, between 9 am - 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm.
- From Monday August 31 - through Friday September 4, new incoming students K-5 will be registered at the District Office , Room 4, 9 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm.
- From September 8th on, new incoming K-5 students will be registered at their respective school site. Again, if you do not know which is your school site, please call 626-441-5810 X1120, and give your address to determine which elementary school is your school site.
Additionally, every parent is expected to attend "Round Up" which takes place August 18, 19 & 20, 2009 at your school site. At Round Up you will be expected to provide current proofs of residency and a completed District Acknowledgement Form (which can be downloaded here beginning August 1). South Pasadena schools begin on Tuesday September 1, 2009.
You may not register for school until you reside in South Pasadena and have your appropriate three proofs of residence, and registration must be done by the parent or legal guardian of the child.
*Students must be 5 years old by December 2, 2009. No Exceptions
Please remember that all incoming students who have moved here from out of state or out of the country will need to provide proof of a Mantoux TB test and negative reading, performed in the US, and valid within the past year. If you need help in obtaining this shot, you may contact the Monrovia Health Services clinic at 626-256-1600. They provide a free Mantoux TB test and other immunizations for children.

Deed of Trust
Mortgage Payment Receipt – dated within the past month
Rental/Lease Agreement, listing all names of occupants (including children), and the name, address, telephone number and signature of landlord/management company.
Property Tax Bill – dated within the past year
Closing Escrow Papers
Category B
Utility Bill (Example: Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Water Bill) – dated within the past month
Time Warner Cable Bill – dated within the past month
Telephone/Cell Phone Bill – dated within the past month
Category C
Current Car Registration – dated within the past year
Car Insurance Statement – dated within the past 6 months to 1 year
Health Insurance Statement – dated within the past month
Bank Statement (or signed letter on bank letterhead with the South Pasadena address) – dated within the past month
Pay Stub showing current South Pasadena address – dated within the past month
Current Federal or State Tax Forms – dated within the past year
